The inside itself was thoughtfully decorated and created a' artistic atmosphere. Aside from that, the masala fries with their signature sauces came straight from heaven. As if I were biting through a soft heavenly cloud. The soft potato interior shocked me, only cause the crisp from the exterior was like a lays potato chip! Then with the personal pizzas, they were great as well! Unique flavors as if your mouth is juggling them like an experienced circus clown! The dough is great! If you are looking for a unique place that will transfer you from Lincoln park to flavor town in an instant, this is it! Also, service was good :)
I really like moti, the concept, the service and the quality of the food. I just wanted to give a couple suggestions because I was very excited to take my mom here and was a little let down by the food. We ordered the palak paneer pizza and the steamed veggie momos. I think the pizza would be better if it had cubes of paneer instead of grated. The high heat from the oven makes the grated paneer grainy. Grated paneer all over the pizza also makes the pizza bland. If there were more palak sauce, mozzarella, cubes of paneer, and the sauce/cilantro garnish I think it would taste much better and more like palak paneer. The momo wrapper was good, but the filling was not very tasty and had a strong flavor of turmeric. I think a different filling recipe would help. I'm sure the meat versions are better and I know it's difficult to often replicate the flavor in vegetarian food. I've been here before and love the samosa chat and curries so just my two cents.
The Masala Pizza, Samosa Pizza, and Masala Fries were better than I could ever have imagined. Great atmosphere and amazing service. Absolutely coming back
Food - traditional south asian flavors, it's spicy, the way it should be so if you can't take it stay out of the Indian kitchen. For those of us who love it, it is absolutely delicious. I had the Momos, the Moti Momos and they were absolutely incredible spicy filled with fresh vegetables and steamed. The pizza is delicious. We had the Manchrian, which was every kind of flavor you want and didn't know you needed on a pizza. Service - the owner is usually there greeting folks and making off menu items to share his love for South Asian cuisine. Ambience- cool hip fast casual spot for those folks 20-80 if you like traditional flavors. Great prices for excellent food!!!!
Delicious food, upbeat and clean ambiance. The service was also great - helped us with any questions and provided recommendations. He also gave us free popsicles which were so yum! Highly recommend visiting this place.
Tonight was one of those nights when leftovers weren't appealing but I also didn't want to get dressed up to go anywhere fancy. When deciding where to go, none of the usual spots sounded right when my fiance found Moti. The second I saw the menu, I was sold. He wanted Indian and I was craving pizza and the reviews had us excited. Moti is a smaller almost fast casual resturant with about 10ish tables. We walked right in and went to order but were almost overwhelmed with choice. We knew the Tikka pizza was on our list and we settle on two different tacos and some samosas (our favorite and what we use to judge how a meal will be). I was not prepared for just how good this meal would be. The samosas started us off strong, at a massive portion with delicious tangy chutney. If you are looking for something more light and fresh, definitely go for the lamb classic taco. Our favorite taco was the samosa smash, with was overflowing with delicious soft veggies and crunch from the samosa pastry. The star of the show was the tikka pizza, which was soft, almost doughy, packed with flavor and spicy enough that it packed heat without compromising flavor. We will be coming back for just the pizza alone. The best part is, this all came in at a reasonable price and we left stuffed with leftovers! Truly a top casual meal in my books.
I have ordered takeout from this location of Moti several times now and the food has always been phenomenal. I have only tried their momos, various bowls and the palak paneer pizza. Food is fresh, creative and tasty. I have met the owner Dhruv and he is very friendly. They have great deals for dining in as well so I recommend you give them a try.
Don't sleep on Moti!!! Huge, creative fusion menu that will make you want to order six entrees all for yourself. I've actually not ever had their quote "normal" Indian food like the curries, because I'm so obsessed with the fusion recipes. Smashed samosa pizza? Yes please. Tikka Masala Burrito? Sign me up. Buffalo momos?? Why not??? I'm dying to try the Munchies Box soon - the easiest way to combine all this deliciousness into one! And they have vada pav!! I feel like that's not super common in small Indian restaurants, but I adore it. They're priced so fairly for the area, and do a cute "date night" deal on some weekdays. The staff is super friendly for both dine in and takeout. I tell everyone in the neighborhood to come here, because I seriously think Moti is severely under appreciated for all they offer!
